Cobblestones I, a photo from West-Vlaanderen, Flanders

Photographer's Note

I have made this photograph to the second entrance of the castle of Male Belgium on 5 km from Bruges between Maldegem and Bruges. Everything are here in the old cobblestone stones to give character antiquity.
A must to visit the castle once, it has been very quiet and in a green pattern.

This picture I have cropped at the leftside to a better compositon.

Wonderful colours, John, maybe just slightly too saturated, but thats just for my taste. The pov is interesting with the cobblestones in the foreground and the red brickwall on the right. Well done!

Nice combination of autumn warm colors and the entrance of the old castle John!...I like the way you located the entrance in the right side of the frame and let the road to lead the eye through the depth of the photo...Very well done!

Hi John.
I like your composition with the paths entering the photo in both of the bottom corners, leading the eye in to this photo. Lovely autumn colours, and great contrast.

Nice one JHM. I like the colours. It is interesting for me to realise without reading your note that this one you had modified from the original.

Les couleurs fortement saturées (un peu trop je pense) sont néamoins très belles. Quant au cadrage, il est comme d'habitude parfait. Bien vu, John!

Well made compo John. Good idea to have the road cross there contrastying the gate. Sharp, fine colours in the afternoon light.

Very good choice of shooting angle for this one, John. The inverse Y-shape of the cobblestone pathway makes a good foreground interest and a strong device to provide perspective, and the autumnal colors and light of the surrounding scenery are delightfully captured. Well done.

I find on this entrance the particula stones your talking about. On all the line the association and complementarity of the colors are very particular and gives with the rod a great depth to the picture.

Ja john, de foto is goed genomen, zonder meer.
De kleuren komen zeer goed uit met dit winter zonnetje. Het is als een schilderpallet. De cropping is ook goed gelukt. het is zeker niet Uw best, maar zeker goed genoeg. Goed werk John

The spirit of the fall nicely captured. I know how difficult is to get a balance between the shadowed and illuminated parts, and you did it well.

Très belle palette de tons automnaux. Juste un peu trop de saturation à mon avis. Le cadrage est parfait et le sujet intéressant. L'entrée du château et la route pavée sont les points forts.

Hi John, a photo with a nice perspective and good light, the green tonal ranges are somewhat unusual, specially deep where the light strikes most, probably a result from your PP !

This is a very well composed view. The crossing of the two paths creates an engaging entrance into the photo. It gives the feel that everything comes to this point and then it's time to move in, through the gate, to mysterious unknowns. The view through the gate gives a good tease as to what is through there. Some kind of enchanted forest. Very nice colors and lighting, too. Very neat. Well done.

L'exposition a été parfaitement maîtrisée c'est une chose que je ne maîtrise pas encore bien avec mon 300 moi mais je désespère pas encore.;-)
Très bel angle qui nous offre une jolie vue d'ensemble.J'aime moins ce ciel retouché par contre mais cela n'est que purement personnel

C'est une très bonne composition bien cadrée.
J'apprécie l'avant-plan qui contribue à la profondeur et à une bonne perspective.
Je pense que les couleurs sont un peu saturées, mais l'aspect général de la photo est magnifique.

Very beautiful autumnal light of end of day, which revives the colors, even if I think that it are saturated a little too much.
The road in the diagonal enables us to appreciate the good depth of field.
