The last week got we two days better weather, I found these photo along Napoleon canal in the rural village of Hoeke, 8 km of the Belgian coast, 500m of the Netherlands borders..
The shepherd with his sheep and dogs, this is for me always a pleasant moment for take a picture of these peaceful group to make.
These narrow road is forbidden for car, alone fisherman come here with the car.
Every day during summer come here maybe thousand bikers, almost all that make a trip between Bruges and Sluis, real a recommended for bikers.
You can regular stopping, for drinking a cup of coffee, or maybe a good fresh beer.

Sheep in Flanders:
Land maintained with small ruminants: a cheaper alternative

The sheep focused on lamb production is rarely profitable in Flanders: the grounds are very expensive and other intensive exploitation possibilities are therefore often more interesting.
In Flanders, however, many public and private areas that require maintenance. Think of parks, industrial areas, dikes ... Moreover, there are quite a few natural recovered to be maintained. Mechanical maintenance with its own staff or through contract work is an expensive solution. Deployment of small ruminants may be a good alternative.
Landscape with sheep in the Netherlands has been in recent years a firm foothold. In Flanders growing interest slowly. Both for the land manager and for the farmer, there are many practical questions about this new form of sheep. The project "Landscape management with sheep 'had intended to gather information and as many answers.
