Photographer's Note

In addition to the boat tour of Bruges, being in a company of two ladies, I took also a horse carriage ride through the old town. The carriage took us for a 30 minutes ride with a 5 minutes break for the horse. It was much needed because the day was quite hot. The carriage stopped next to this extraordinary fountain. The owner of the horse opened a side door on the fountain, from where she took out a bucket, which she filled with the water for the horse. It seems it was a standard very well-planned route with the stop at the Horse Head Drinking Fountain. By the way there was another horse head on the opposite side of the fountain. CLICK HERE to see a side view of the fountain with both horse heads visible in a photo by our friend Carlo.
