Photographer's Note

This is a view of one of the loveliest squares in Bruges, Jan Van Eyck Square (Jan van Eyckplein). I took this picture from the boat, having a tour of the channels. On one hand, such distant shots allow to take a lot in, but on another, the perspective squeezes the view, it feels quite flat and the place does not appear as a square here at all. The monument of course presents the famous Flemish artist. However, I was not able to identify the tower. I don’t think it is a church. May be John will help me out here if he notices the photo.
