I took this picture (26.01.2021) this morning, +1°Celsius, a trip of 42 km.

History:

Saint Cornelius Church Aalter centre.

Stained glass.

The Sint-Cornelius Church has a total of 12 beautiful stainedglass windows, 10 of which were made by Gust Ladon (1863–1942), a painter-glazier from Ghent specialized in neo-Gothic Christian art. The other windows were made by a former student of Ladon, Camille Ganton-Defoin (1872–1946) and by Albert Mestdagh (1926–1972)

excellent image of the stained glass, the personages are well made, but curiously the face of Mary looks something different, as it had seen restored in a not such good way. anyway your photo is perfect.

Hi John,
beautiful stained window very well captured. I see here a scene from the moment when God has send a Holy Spirit to the Apostles who were gathered on prayer with St Mary. The dove symbolizing the Holy Spirit appears here and as the Bible says there were also little tongues as if made of fire above each one of them.

Superbly used the outside backlight to enhance the many colors of the stained window, John.
A religious theme depicted with nthe added two lions on the lower part keeping huard to the England flags.
