Thank for your visit.

This is the fourth picture of the visit at Leuven two month ago, with one most beautiful churches in the area.
I have a little bit cropped for a better composition.

History of the St. Peter's Church from Leuven;

St. Peter's Church is the oldest church in Leuven. She was probably founded in 986.
The first church burned down in 1176. When a new Romanesque church was founded with a crypt behind the choir. The west was flanked by two towers and is seen in the old city seal.
With the construction of the present Gothic building - much larger than the Romanesque church understood - was started in 1425. The choir was built by Sulpicius of Forest. After him several architects succeeded. Again played Jan Keldermans II and Matthew the Layens an important role.
The church was practically completed in 1497.
