Photographer's Note
Palais de Justice is the most important Court building in Belgium, and is a notable landmark of Brussels. It was built between 1866 and 1883 in the eclectic style by architect Joseph Poelaert. The total cost of the construction, land and furnishings was somewhere in the region of 45 million Belgian francs. It is the biggest building constructed in the 19th century.
The building includes huge interior statues of Demosthenes and Lycurgus, by sculptor Pierre Armand Cattier, and figures of Roman jurists Cicero and Ulpian, by Antoine-Félix Bouré. Although the construction took place during the reign of Léopold II, he showed little interest in the building, and it's not considered part of his extensive architectural program in Brussels or his legacy as the "Builder-King".
The Brussels Palace of Justice is bigger than St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The building is currently 160 by 150 meters, and has a total built ground surface of 26,000 m². The 104 meter high dome weighs 24,000 tons. The building has 8 courtyards with a surface of 6000 m², 27 large court rooms and 245 smaller court rooms and other rooms. Situated on a hill, there is a level difference of 20 meters between the upper and lower town, which results in multiple entrances to the building at different levels.

Merhaba Deniz,
Bakiyorum bugün TE'de komsuyuz. Karanlik ve son derecede dramatik bir manzara. Sütunlarin alt kisminda "meander" ("Greek Key") dedikleri desenler hemen belli oluyor, ve soldaki mermer heykelin sanki bir sahit veya nöbetçi vazifesinde duruyor.
Selam ve saygilar, Deniz.

Hello Deniz,
The provided image is surpassing. Not only in the technical aspect of the given quality but also in its mood and ambience created by the distribution of available light. I feel time actually visualizes itself before us. In the stillness and permanence of the presence of the giant columns the passing of time reveals itself in the shape of two individuals. How creative this image is. I am witnessing total control over this magical moment. This is for me an eye-opening discovery made among many images, which pass in front of us. The photo captures both the emotional aspect of our needs and the underlying logic. I have spent some time looking through your gallery. It was a very rewarding experience. I am certain to come to meet with your images in the near future. I must thank you for the very informative review, very nice to meet you.
With my very best regards,
Have a very pleasant Sunday, Deniz

Very visual, lots of things to me like this approach. Well is set in relation to the columns, the human factor also did well. You achieve a nice atmosphere and spaciousness. I especially like the contrast between the left side and right side of the - column. I am very sorry that my English is too weak to be able to express in words what I think really looking at ...
I think two points are definitely not enough ... and words are not enough ...

hello Deniz
the architecture is magnificent, impressive, and you have superbly managed the light, I think it was not so easy ,the contrasts being rather strong.I like very much the 2 people crossing the monument, animating the place in a very nice way.Superb!

Önünden 93-94 No'lu tramvaylar geçerdi...
Brüksel'in o kendine has griliğine yakışan ama harikulade bir çalışma olmuş. Tebrikler.

Hi Deniz,
Nice to see you here in Brussels!
Your nice photo shows just a small part of an enormous building, and I wondre if people, already impressed by your image, can imagine how it feels to walk in the main entrance hall!
I can see that building from my home,it dominates Brussels from the top of the city;it is not meanless that it has been build there.
What I consider as a real shame is that the golden dome at the top of the Palais is still in refection since almost 30 years, with an awful scaffolding disfiguring it...
The reason is probably that at the end of WWII,germans at withdrawal had put the Palais on fire, trying to destroy all their war archive they had stored there.Since then the dome had never really recovered its durability.
Best regards from Belgium,
Fred

Hello Deniz.
This looks like a frame of a movie such is the quality of light on the left side, so good is the compo you've arranged.
Those 2 characters rushing out seems like two busy guys leaving the court right into another important meeting that we usually see on those places and they fit so well into the scene.
But again it's the light, it makes visible so many nice details and creates such a good atmosphere...
Cheers.

Merhaba! Denis! I appreciate the importance of this concept! An impressive performance with architectural elements, perhaps with Greek origins to impress! also to detail and movement! The thin tonal different in light shadows gave levels look 3D dimension! Very good presentation! Thanks for sharing!

I love the colunms and the people in "ghost"style. Why not include the head of the statue on the left side?
Great ligth and sharpness.
