Photographer's Note

I’ve taken this photo of Lake Hallstat and surrounded by Austrian Alps through the airplane window from an altitude of 11,000m during flight from Zurich to Singapore.
Lake Hallstatt (Hallstätter See in Geraman language) is located in the Salzkammergut in central Austria. Its surface is approximately 8.55 km² and its maximum depth is 125 m.
The Salzkammergut stretches from the City of Salzburg eastwards along the Austrian Alpine Foreland and the Northern Limestone Alps, spanning the federal states of Upper Austria, Salzburg, and Styria. The name Salzkammergut literally means "Estate of the Salt Chamber" and derives from the Imperial Salt Chamber, the authority charged with running the precious salt mines of the Habsburg Monarchy.
