Photographer's Note

Not a very good picture, but it shows the Brenner Pass (Passo di Brénnero/Brennerpass) which straddles the Austrian-Italian border between Innsbruck and Bolzano. With a maximum altitude of 1374 metres it is the lowest pass for a large part of the main Alpine range and has therefore been an important route through the Alps for many centuries. A railroad was built in the 1860s and the highway was built in the 1970s as an alternative to the old and narrow road.

The picture is taken on the Austrian side looking south towards the border that is visible in the distance.

Post-processing: Tried to fix colours and sharpness. Cropped unnecessary space, mainly to the right and bottom.
