The Wörthersee, located in the 3-Corners Region of Austria, Italy and Slovenia, though not Austria’s biggest lake, is definitely its most popular. Nestled amidst mountains and hillsides, blessed with an almost Mediterranean climate and a cheerful southern character, it enjoys an almost legendary reputation: for its great events and nightlife, but also for pristine landscapes, peace and relaxation. The heart of this region, which actually includes 5 lakes, is the Wörthersee itself, 17 km long and as much as 27° C warm; surrounding it, 8 towns and the provincial capital, each quite different from the next – the flair of a casino, romantic, pulsating, traditional.

Hi David!

A very remarkable landscape, my typical sight of a european landscape. The snow capped mountains, forest, houses, its reflections and the lake are put together in a good combination. The lighting is surreal too, may I ask what time of the day you captured this photo? Nonetheless, beautiful composition! Well done!

Hi David,
Beautiful three layers here, from that lovely warm lit water and town at the bottom complete with nice reflections to the undulating trees in the center, and then the majestic snow capped mountains in the background to top everything off just with the sun touching them too. great elements to form a lovely image.
