Photographer's Note

Today we made a short trip with a friend´s car, a De Soto Deluxe Special 1947.
It´s my first try in RAW, I converted it to monochrome sepia, had to adjust nothing (?).

Hallo Christian! Da waren die Zeiten noch gemuetlich, als man in solchen Vehikeln rumkurvte. Ich war zwar noch nicht auf unserem Erdball :) aber ich stelle es mir so vor, oder vielleicht war es auch muehsam und laestig, weil die Dinger nie richtig fuhren und immer etwas Maintenance brauchten, wer weiss. Schoene Idee mit dem leichten Stich, es unterstreicht das Oldtimer Feeling. raw nicht raw, auf jeden Fall! Schoener Abend, bist Du schon geruestet fuer die EM ... hier ist es kaum mehr zum Aushalten, ich werde noch wahnsinnig :) Gottseilobunddank fliege ich am Donnerstag nach Amerika. Oder bist Du ein Fan, dann exguesi, geniess es, auch dafuer habe ich Verstaendnis, keine Frage. Jedem das seine kleine Glueck. Barbara.

That`s the way...
A wonderful framing,I like it very much,a great focus on the car and a superb bokeh.
I like that much because has the look of those years,back in 1947.The car...a beautiful one.
Excellent choice for sepia toning.What can I say more...only my compliments.Great job.

Hi Christian, I like the creamy curves and chrome of this 50s vehicle, the sepia give a nice period touch .The framing is unconventional yet effective,a departure from you landscapes. Thanks Tom

The sepia is perfect for that kind of shot isn't it? A very good timeless feel. You can almsot imagine the sound of the engine.

Well well, there you have it, professional glass ;-) Okay, the photo is very beautiful, but also the car is a real beauty, the monochrome toning fits perfectly to it. But...how does the camera feel and even more important, how does the glass looks on the output quality? There is hardly a better zoom-lens than this one, so i am curious what you think of it.

schoenes Spiel von Licht und Schatten! Seit Jahren traeume ich von so einem alten Auto, ein paar Mal war ich knapp daran, eines zu kaufen, aber immer hat irgendwas nicht gepasst, entweder war keine Garage da oder kein Geld ;D Naja, eines Tages vielleicht...
Und, schon vertraut mit der neuen Kamera? Auf mich wartet auch schon eine in Wien, hole sie diese Woche ab!

Head-on PoV with off-centre framing works really well. Perfectly focused with blurry background. And of course B&W is a good choice for such a classic car.

Nice,very evocative with your choice in sepia,a walk through the 40th year...I must say that sharpness and the out of focus are perfects,and the moment you took the picture is the perfect one too,the car is passing a sun hole between shadows,I think you have played very well with the light.Very good first RAW :)
