foehn night, a photo from Carinthia, West

Photographer's Note

Last night.. the foehn was blowing, a warm wind from the south. And there was the full moon.. a constellation where people are restless, they walk from bar to bar, all night long, get drinks and headache.. or they go out to take photographs..

in the lower left you see some city lights of my hometown Klagenfurt..the left is a new hotel, the bright one is the football stadium they build for the European championships in 2008.. 100 millions of €..and three games, that was all ... now there are 2000 people watching third class games.. what good things could we do with this sum..

Hi Christian,
This is an singular night pic. I like the motion of cloud in the sky and there direction all leading to the center of the pic. I like the contrast of blurry sky and sharp mountains/water surface. I particularly like the reflection on the water. Excellent composition and great idea for a full moon hang out :)

Very attractive shot with the clouds lighted by the full moon pushed by the wind (63 seconds exposition) contrasting with the sharp mountains in silhouette and the lights of the city. The clouds seem to be going at the same point and are making a great dynamic graphism. Good light management.

i love this shot. the bottom half os perfectly still and with super good sharpness while the top part tis more fuzy with the clouds and gives good sense of movement with the wind
the only thing that bothers me are the branches in the a coral tone int he uper corner, but still an amazing shot

ein wunderbares Föhn Bild - fast wie gemalt durch die lange Belichtungszeit. Gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut!

Auch ich habe am Samstag Abend einen herrlichen Föhnblick als ich auf eine Geburtstagsfeier gefahren bin - leider war meine Kamera zuhause. :(

Wonderful shot. Like a geographic lesson about foehn.
In France also, there are winds, which makes people crazy, when they blow. This extraordinary impression is very well given in your photo.
With all this money, I, I would be happy to buy an EOS 5 D Mark II!
