Photographer's Note

Schloss Ort sits in the middle of lake Traunsee on an artificial island. It was built in 1620 for Count Herberstoff. During the Austrian religious wars aimed at extermination of protestants, the Count liked to force protestant leaders he captured to play dice against him. Those protestants who lost were hanged in the castle yard.

Nowadays, the castle and its surroundings are attracting crowds of fans of the German TV series "Schlosshotel Ort" that were filmed in the area.
