Blue Eye Reservoir II, a photo from Sarande, South

Photographer's Note

Although the reservoir water is perfectly fit to drink and indeed services the nearby beach resort town of Sarande, most people head upstream to the Blue Eye fresh water Spring which is a chilly but manageable 10c (at least in summer when it's 30c-40c,) as it emerges from the base of the thickly forested lower slopes of the mountain. The yellow green pond and duckweed dissuades most people from swimming here anyway.

Hello Chris,
The contours of the landscape taken together with the reflections and the sky make for an agreeably balanced composition. Fine saturated colours and very good sharpness.

Hello Chris,
The pond is probably better for watching than for swimming. The colours of the water and the surroundings are well saturated and the duckweed make a nice foreground.

Bonjour Chris,

J'aime beaucoup les couleurs de l'eau de ce lac qui semble être attaqué par une certaine pollution au niveau des herbes qui l'entourent. Les montagnes sont belles ainsi que le ciel.

it's looks not very inviting for swimming but the view of this landscape is stunning. It's very sharp and clear with fine colors, you have also chosen a good spot for this shot. Is there a slight tilt to the left in the photo? Tfs!

The colours really stand out in your photograph!
The colours of blue and green, seen around the edges of the pool, are all reflected so that these colours completely fill the screen!
It's a very beautiful scene.

this is one of those photos where the longer you view it the more and more you appreciate it. For some reason i'm wondering how this same scene would look in the winter, seeing snow on the mountains in the bg could be nice. Here its very warm, warm tones, sweet blues/greens complimenting each other. Peaceful presence too. cheers

So many different blue and green tones make the view extra attractive and form a nice contrast with the barren hillside at the back. Also with the yellow waterplants in front.
