Photographer's Note
This gentleman is a sub-chief of his village, an Emberá tribe village in eastern Panama. During our visit he told os the history of his tribe, and answered questions about their daily life. The Emberá people dress in this manner on a daily basis, but have more modern clothing for going into the city (Panama's second-largest city, Colón, is about an hour's travel away). The village consists of palm-thatched huts with either dirt or elevated wooden floors. However the town hall (where we were) does have electricity.
