Photographer's Note

This hieroglyphic stairway in Copan is a continuous text of more than 1250 glyph blocks listing dates and names of the city's rulers. Copan is smaller than other sites, like Tikal, but you can learn a lot of interesting things like all the original colors that the Mayan people used in their temples. You can see them right here. Before visiting Copan I though that all the Mayan temples were gray as stones; Now, I have learned that they used strong colors like green, blue, red in their constructions.
