Photographer's Note

This towered church dating from 1732 is dedicated to human sorrow, earning it a special place in the hearts of poverty-stricken Hondurenos. On the facade it's the most ornate of any churches in the city. Although the building keeps official opening hours, unofficially it is frequently closed during the week. If you can get inside, the interior, dominated by colorful dome, features paintings of Crucifixtion. The church is know to be the nexus of a system of colonial-era tunnels, none of which are open to the public any longer. The church face a lived square filled with stalls selling inexpensive goods.

This is a splendid view of the large square and the superb church in colonial architecture . I like the presence of the people with coloured clothes .

A church is always a striking building in any city, like this one, captured in a splendid sunny day.
It is nice to see an image of a not very photographed country on this site.

nice view of the wide and empty square with the church in evidence. we can find some aspects of the original colonial architecture but we can see many things were renovated too. nice view.
