Photographer's Note

Cocoa beans spill from the pod of a cocoa plant. These beans don't look much like chocolate here. The beans will be put in containers for several days to sweat. After that they are dried in the hot tropical sun. Then they are roasted to produce chocolate. Cocoa is just one of many spices produced, processed, and exported on Grenada. This has earned the island the name "Spice Island."
