Photographer's Note

A friend of us wrote about my first post of Dominican Republic: "instead of showing us beach captures from the warm sun and happy people we get an empty church". Maybe it wasn't very kind of myself making him wait for so long and end up disappointing him, because the fact is that I haven't any decent photos showing happy people.

I wonder why I make so few photos of people lately; maybe because it is easier to compose photos with static subjects that allow us spending more time choosing the POV's and adjusting the technical details, maybe some shyness is also involved... It's funny that for many years I photographed mainly people and rarely made landscape or architecture photos.

One of the things that fascinates me the most in some tropical beaches like Boca Chica is having big trees so close to water, allowing us to stay and walk in their shadow with our feet in the sea. That's something that I have never seen in the part of the World where I come from, where beaches are much more like small sand deserts with the sea on one side.

On this WS you have a photo with more people.

I am not sure if I'll come to TE this weekend, so I wish you all a nice weekend.

Update on my previous post: After reading the critiques discussing the framing/cropping of my previous post, I posted the original shot, which has a rectangular format and a different POV.
