Photographer's Note
I wanted to express a particular feeling with this submission, and talk about abandonment in plain sight in a busy city like Santo Domingo. This clock tower and the boulevard that contains it resides in the middle of one of the busiest avenues in the city, and yet, it is abandoned to any practical uses. You can see garbage on the floor, the flowers are not being taken care of and the clock itself has been broken for nearly 20 years.
The whole concept of the boulevard is questionable, as there are no parking spots nearby. At the beginning of operations, there were some bars and a small amphitheater. But the practical uses were gone too quickly and everything you see is decaying rapidly at everyone's sight. Flags are new, tho. After all, we just celebrated the DR Independence.

Hello Dario
I am sure the city fathers did not anticipate such decay. All cities go thru it. Some officials are better than others in keep up with the times. The flags do add some excitement to the image. Sorry to see such neglect.
Cheers

Hi Dario
An interesting view from Santo Domingo, despite the rubbish. A grand and unusual damaged clock tower. Well taken with the waving flags.
cheers

Bonjour, cher Dario,
Eh oui, le respect semble se perdre, l'environnement sain est nécessaire pour tous;
il est bien triste de voir une telle prise de vue.
L'intérêt demeure quant à l'édifice particulier.
Amitiés.
Philippe
