Photographer's Note

"Los Haitises" is a natural parc on the south-west part of the Samana peninsula, located north-east of the Dominican Republic.

This wonderful area is a little bit more than 200 km² but only the shallow coast is accessible due to the inextricable mangrove ecosystem. Full of plants, fishes and birds, caves and artefacts of the disappeared Tainos people, this is a paradise for the people who want to discover the great Historic and Natural ressources of this country.

To discover, there is no accessible road. You need to take a boat from the small town called Sanchez, on the other side of the bay and after a 30 minute trip, you reach an unforgetable place.

I took this lovely birds unknown to me from the little boat navigating between the Mogotes which are small islands which form ans coast probably similar to the Halong bay. Returning to Sanchez, we passed by an area with dozens of wood poles in the middle of the sea with various lovely birds having a sunbath...

Anyone who can identify these lovely birds, please let me know.

Cropped, reframed, staurated a little bit, I also tried to decrease the overexposure of the top feathers.
