Photographer's Note

As holidays abroad are not a complete change if you don't taste the local cooking, I wanted to present you a Dominican speciality.

On the beach I presented you few days ago, I tasted a local fish grilled in a small "Comedor" around which are small local restaurants at the Bayahibe beach. It was served with "Tostones", which are really tasty bananas cut in slices and grilled with the fish anf few small "Lemon verde". I love these small lemons : they are the same which are served in Brazil with the wonderful cocktail called "Caipirinha".

Take a fresh local beer called "Presidente" and you have a typical plate for the Domincan at the beach. Oh, yes, don't forget few bottles of "Brugal" rhum with a lot ice and juice fruits too for your friends...

Apart from this exemple well appropriate for the day at the beach, Dominican cooking is mainly made of Pollo (chicken), arroz con abichuelas (riz and nice beans). These two ingredients are usually part of their everyday meal like bread in France.

Other wonderful stuffs I tasted were "Aguacate", "Manga" : they are definitely tasteless in France !!! I won't forget the nice local coffee "Santo Domingo" and few Robusto cigars like those of "Arturo Fuente" or Leon Jimenez"

As I wanted to spare you my deep blue towel, I desaturated it, resized the picture and applied some Unsharp mask.
