Photographer's Note

Surprising as it seemed, this is a bus stop in downtown Spiritus Sancti. Every ten minutes or so a horse-drawn cart would come, stop to fetch pessengers and be on its way.

Given the limited supply of oil/gas and the fact that the few buses available in Cuba are used for inter-city transport, local transit is often provided by such vehicles. However, as I understood from the girl waiting for her "bus," the system is relatively well organized, with different routes and fare structures, with tickets sold by the driver and destinations posted at the front of the awning.
