Barber shop in Havana, a photo from La Habana, West

Photographer's Note

A daily life scene from the streets of Havana. A last walk in the streets of Havana before returning back home. I was actually looking for some murals where Che Guevara was the motif when I came across this scene. I don`t know if the man sitting outside the barber shop were waiting to get his hair cut or if he were just sitting there. Anyway, I think he fitted quite nicely into the scene.

Et godt billede af frisøren i Havana. Jeg kan godt lide de røde og blå farver og tegningerne på den hvide væg. Manden der sidder og måske venter på kunder er også godt kommet med, især fordi hans tøj har de samme farver som bygningen.

So well-observed! The image of the wall, window and the architectural frame would be graphic enough but the sitting man makes it extra special. Matching colours are a bonus.

En riktigt snyggt komponerad bild. Mannen bidrar med det liv som de flesta gatubilder behöver, dessutom är han klädd i färger som matchar byggnaden perfekt. Genom fönstret får vi en glimt in i lokalen, och på väggen är det fina avbildningar av frisörens verktyg. Inte minst har du beskurit bilden väldigt fint och gett den en naturlig ram. Jag kunde inte ha gjort det bättre själv. ;-)

So they are too, infected by this craze of barber shops? Here in Hungary they use to be called hairdressers, but now everyone is a barber... Anyway, the photo itself is outstanding!

Erling, authentic daily life scene captured in La Havana. The painting and the pillars with the Cuban flag colors draw attention. The man seated on the sidewalk is well included. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

aren't these shots just the best? I think they are.
I get the feeling he was just sitting there, as many local Cuban's do - they enjoy just sitting our front and watching the day go by slowly. love the white blue red stripes, the bars on the window, and just the overall look and feel of this ol' time shot. cheers

Another great scene from Cuba! I like this division of the image in two, the framing is great, and so is the texture of the old wall. The man completes the scene perfectly, giving more life and interest to it! Wonderful job!
