Photographer's Note
The humidity in Cuba as in all Caribbean islands is so controlling that permit surprising scenarios like this one.
The tree roots are fed by the masonry wet walls. A “top tree”.

I like the small tree growing on top of the wall, but it makes a rather derelict house... Good colors.
All the best,

Hi Rui, just back form vacations to the Dominican Republic this picture reminds me a lot of these past days but also my resolution to Cuba be my next caribean island to visit. The composition is pretty nice and surprising with a tree on top of a house and the routs burried into the wall. Maybe a human element walking along would have enriched the scene.

I like this photo very much. I like how different it makes me feel and I truly could feel the humidity. Wonderful character, color and feeling in this photo.
