Photographer's Note

Costa Rica 5:

There is a ferry from Puntarenas to Paqueta that is wonderful. This is the same ferry from yesterday and I was facinated while I was on it. It is full of people: travelers, tourists, bus drivers, etc. All coming or going somewhere. It was such an interesting thing to watch people just looking out to the horizons. They all had such pensive faces. What were they thinking about? Have they have left someone, Are they traveling to see someone? Ferrys are a wonderful way to travel.

This shot caught my attention because of the mimicry in body positions. Their arms in the exact same spot and the compostion has an interesting flow downward on a diagonal with a horizontal splitting of the frame as well. The distortion is the wide angle lens I talked about yesterday.

The title reflects my thoughts on what both people are doing. One is archiving this moment for future remembering this with a camera, and the other is remembering where he came from just staring out into the ocean.

pp:
crop,
levels,
boarder,
cloned the top of the antenna out to bring it into the frame.
