Photographer's Note

More of Costa Rica.

So although I was uninspired and I felt like I forgot all that I have learned in the past couple of months in TE. I decided to try some shots that I thought were really beautiful.
I tried my hand at some shots I saw from Timecatcher who does an amazing job at these types of shots. This was my first try, and I am just lucky that the oncoming wave did not turn my camera into a distant memory.
I was using a 6in tripod and living on the edge as my camera was perched precariously on this rock facing down the oncoming wave. The camera was brave and I got this shot that I enjoy out of it.

The wind was blowing so that is why the trees have the strange ghost shadow. This shot is not perfect by any means, but I like the movement felt here and the idea of the temporal nature of everything near the ocean. Nothing will be the same ever; sand, trees, waves, sky, and me. I think I like this shot not because of it being pretty, but because of the transient nature of it.

i posted a workshop with a burned in version of the rock. thanks to "three"
