Photographer's Note

This is Scaly-breasted hummingbird targeting on nectar of flowers on a park in the city of La Fortuna. There are hundreds of species of hummingbirds in the world. I couldn't possibly identify the right one by myself. But our local guide did, of course. Apparently Costa Rican tourist guides have to have deep knowledge of local wildlife.

According to Scaly-breasted hummingbird is rather large, dull-plumaged hummingbird of humid tropical lowlands. It favors forest edge and adjacent clearings with trees, flowering bushes, and gardens.

Another angle of attack in the Workshop.
