Photographer's Note

This is a samovar in Sunbury plantation house with the dining room behind. I always associate samovars with Russia, but this is Barbados.
I was looking for a good shot of the dining room, but when I noticed the shiny tea urn I couldn't resist seeing myself in lights. I've decided to post this shot, specifically to add to Jeppe's theme of Photographers at Work.
Sunbury dates from 1660 - firmly in the colonial days and is the only great house with all the rooms still open to the public. It was a fascinating glimpse into this aspect of history which leaves me with a strange mixture of feelings from admiration to embarassment.
