Photographer's Note

The views from Long Bien Bridge, Hanoi on the Red River delta and its floating huts seem idyllic, but it's far from the truth! They live a hard life with no chance of improving, but preferable to some of the homeless living on the streets. Some of the poorest families have been forced to live on the river, pushed to the edge of the city as Hanoi's economy is burgeoning and the city is spreading. There is another side to this place: heroin addicts and opium smoking congregate as night falls.....

Taken on a hazy, drizzle and really moody morning; It's beautiful on the sensor but so very sad if you really open your eyes and try and get under its skin.

Nothing rosy about this capture......
