Photographer's Note

These poor creatures will end up at the top menu in some restaurants or streetstalls in Hanoi. They might have been snatched from nearly areas of Hanoi or smuggled from Thailand. Demand for dogmeat is quite high in Hanoi and surrounded provinces so the supply has become a brutal, highly lucrative black market. I don't oppose people eating dogmeat as dogs are one kind of domestic aminals. Among the dosmestic animals, dogs are closest to us. Treating what we sometimes called friends badly like this before sending them on the plate is somehow very unhumane. Some locals believe that the more suffers an animal before it dies, the tastier its meat.

These buggers might have had their throats slit or bludgeoned to death with a heavy metal pipe or hamer. Heading to central town from Hanoi's airport, there was an collision involved three cars that caused a huge traffic jam. I was stuck in a cap that parke by the roadside awaiting for the traffic to clear, from nowhere this man turn up from the opposite direction on a one way lane until he couldn't find his way to get through. He stopped and rang someone, I spotted that and quickly jumped out of the cap for a few shots before he caught me. He was seem to calm and friendly, may be he couldn't find other way to make his living rather than transporting smelly poor buggers in those cases.
