Photographer's Note

Cách Mạng Tháng, phường 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.

The traffic in HCMC, or Saigon as most of the locals still call it, is lunatic. This street had quite wide pavements on either side, but the traffic, mostly mopeds as you can see, totally ignored that, and overspilled right up to the shop fronts. I walked about 5 km through the centre, and have never felt so exposed. Rosemary refused to accompany me, and I don't blame her. And there's no let-up: at any time of the day or night, scenes similar to this can be witnessed. Hanoi was busy; Saigon was far worse. This was typical...

Light was quite dim at early evening, with rain, as the EXIF data no doubt indicates. Thank God I had my little street-fighting camera with me!
