In traditional thinking, lotus represents noble people - who can live in the dirtiest place without losing their noble essence like a lotus.
You may find lotus flower across Vietnam. Nearly all the pagodas would have it on the altar and decorative sketch. Lotus was also selected as the logo of national air carrier.
