Photographer's Note

Today is the 15th day of the first lunar month of the year of the fire rooster.

In China, this day is celebrated as the last day of the Spring Festival (Celebration of the New Lunar Year), and also as the Lantern Festival Day.

In Vietnam, the Tet Nguyen Dan (or Tet in short) or the Vietnam New Year is closely associated with the Chinese cultural celebrations due to the influence of earlier migrants from China.

Hoi An is famous for its lantern making industry and this lanterns are put on sale at the daily night market in the island off the waterway separating it from the Hoi An ancient city.
