Photographer's Note

There are many surprises awaiting to be explored in the chaotic old quarter of Hanoi - built over 1,000 years ago, is perhaps the most famous historical area of the city. What drew my attention into this particular uncharted territory here was, the overpowering bright and bold sign erected on the wall with a clear message overshadowing the locals having their routine breakfast.

Though Vietnam welcomes visitors and economically leaning towards socialism of free market economy but politically, its government is communist. This has all become common features of the present day system thus imho, difficult to define them in one way or the other.

A gentle reminder ladies! as to who is still in charge here....

Has the hammer & sickle had its day?
