Photographer's Note

Đinh Liệt, Hon Kiếm, H Nội (otherwise Dinh Liet Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi).

This bustling street is in the centre of the Old Quarter of Hanoi, and it's possible to see here evidence of the French colonial architecture, albeit faded and commercialized with shopfronts and advertisements. By far the best way to see the Old Quarter is simply to dive into the maze of twisted lanes, and get lost. Everything spills out onto the pavements which double as moped parks, workshops and display space for merchandise for sale. Vibrant, chaotic and not to be missed.
