Photographer's Note
.
Let me see!
In our industrial countries technology has been developed and improved so quick that if we don’t follow up in six months, our knowledge could be outdated. Computer, digital photography, cellular phone… And we see such speed as normality.
In the same world, things are different. Minority people in Sa Pa, Vietnam rarely come to their nearest city Lao Cai just 20 miles away. They don’t have ID cards. They never hear about credit card. Passport, visa, satellite, travel are terms as strange as solar system, orbit, nuclear to them. Arriving here, you will witness how large is the gap between our civilization and their society…
Here an international photographer let the Dzay minority girls of Ta Van tribe to see how their faces appear on the LCD of his camera. Without the digital tech, these people continue to be photographed but never have a chance to see themselves, except on mirror.

Hi Than,
A nice compo with these people watching theirs photo...colors and sharpness are good too...an interesting note as well...maybe would be nicer with cropping a bit in the right side...
All the best,

Nice composition, very nice colors ...
Well, we ususally believe we could see ... ourselves !
But in reality, how more modern our way of life, how more difficult we could see ... ourselves !
If most of Vietnamese could see ... themselves, the last war did not have to happen or perhaps did not have to last so long, millions of people did not have to die, millions of other people did not have to go away, and Vietnamese society could be as modern as many other countries today in no time, I believe ...
So clearly, what we normally could see is merely a beautiful composition created by others, I believe ...
Well, with beautiful clothes, they are clearly an element in a very beautiful composition ...

... and how happy they are, are they missing something? This "age" creates artifical necessities, half of the developed things we dont need for real life..
Nice picture Thanh, i like the light and nice vivid colours, good work :)

Hi Thanh,
Great expressive composition.
Great colors, light, sharpness.
I like much the beautiful clothes of the women and their long black hairs.

Corinne
