This photo was taken shortly after yesterday's main photo after we had waded through the flood waters to arrive at the closed main entrance to Hue's Đại Nội Citadel.
As I took this photo the man standing in the water in front of the gate also took a photo of us standing in the water.
In the WS is a photo of detail of the main building along to the right of the main photo.
The other WS photo was taken the next day of part of the rear of the building requiring repair work.
My wife has reminded me that the shoes that she was wearing as we worked our way through the water were ruined and never left Hue.

Hello Ian,
That man does more than the usual animation of the view, he also shows us exactly what level the water reached. You got an amusing photo, and so did he, so you were all happy (and wet). I remember many buildings in this large complex in great need of repairs, which is shown in the WS. Not that much seems to have been done in the 16-18 years since my visits.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Ian,
i was surprised how quiet this wonderful complex was when I was there. Such a difference with the imperial city of Beijing.
Fine photo where the human figure provides the scale perfectly.
thanks and regards,
Gerrit

Hi Ian,
The presence of the person is animating the scene. The point pf view is showing the details of the Hue's Dai Nôi Citadel. The rain has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

hello Ian, You were lucky to see this guy standing in the water. Amazing Vietnamese architecture. There are so many objects to visit there. After 10 years I do not quite recognize them. I must look in my archive to refresh my memory.
Best regards MAlgo

Ciao Ian,
I had similar weather in Hue. Good sharpness and the intrepid man standing in the rain provides a good focal point as well as scale. Tfs!
