Photographer's Note
Four Grandmas in Vietnam, continued.
From Hanoi we went by train (sleeping) to Hue. We decided for a train, as we had enough flights and it was cheaper and funny. It is a long way - 12 hours. The train from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh goes 33 or even 41 hours.
In Hue it was raining almost all the time. We didn't expected that the countries lying so close as Vietnam and Burma can be so different, also in respect to climate.
This is reflection from Forbidden city in Imperial Hue. What was the mirror, can you guess?
Huế between 1802 and 1945 was the imperial capital of the Nguyen dynasty. Huế was the national capital until 1945, when Emperor Bao Dại abdicated and a communist government was established in Hà Nội (Hanoi), in the north. While Bảo Đại was briefly proclaimed "Head of State" with the help of the returning French colonialists in 1949 (although not with recognition from the communists and the full acceptance of the Vietnamese people), his new capital was Sài Gòn in the south. After the war’s conclusion, many of the historic features of Huế were neglected because they were seen by the victorious regime and some other Vietnamese as "relics from the feudal regime"; the Vietnamese Communist Party doctrine officially described the Nguyễn Dynasty as "feudal" and "reactionary." There has since been a change of policy, however, and many historical areas of the city are currently being restored.
The grounds of the Imperial City were surrounded by a wall 2 kilometers by 2 kilometers, and the walls were surrounded by a moat. The water from the moat was taken from the Huong River (Perfume River) that flows through Huế. This structure is called the citadel. Inside the citadel was the Imperial City, with a perimeter of almost 2.5 kilometers. Inside the Imperial City was the imperial enclosure called the Purple Forbidden City, a term similar to the Forbidden City in Beijing. The enclosure was reserved for the Nguyễn imperial family. Privet, Malgo,
Original title, very informative note an good illustration of your last trip. Is that an evening time, o just the grey sky? I remember the similar cloudy sky in Thailand everywhere, but if you go to the islands in the Siam Gulf, you have got the blue sky and very nice weather.
Best wishes,
Serghei

Bonjour Malgorzata,
Quand les reflets sont plus beaux que nature, cela donne des images de toute beauté, La faible lumière est contre balancée par le jaune des murs.
Amicalement

Forbidden ? So you stole this photo !! Bad girl !
Lovely peaceful view you show, and a very good note.
I like the reflections and your proportons in general,a very pleasing photo.
You ask what was the mirror ? Was it not merely water ?
It is certainly very accurate, or still, at least.

Hello Malgo,
Splendid reflections in beautiful colours.
Wonderful architecture.
Fantastic and strange unknown reflective object :)
First I thought at the roof of a car but that won't probably be it.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Malgo
the only thing i may suggest changing about this scene is using a vertical presentation, that way we could see the bottom and top of the tree. but then again, we'd loose abit on each side too.
very interesting architectural elements, presented in an overcast skyline - which i really like!
enjoy your day

PS.Dzieki za podpowiedz, brzmi ciekawie o podrozowaniu. U nas dzis rano minus 17 stopni.

Hi Malgorzata!
I know this place and it was a little hard for me to understand - somehow it seemed like a pool to me - something much bigger:)! Very well thought!Even with bad weather, the photo is very good. The colours and the reflection are great.
I got bad weather there, too. Need to return someday, the place really deserves it:))!
