Photographer's Note
Please open both photos in new tabs for the better versions.
The hordes have left after Christmas (yesterday for us) so back to Bukhara.
Not far from the Bakha ad-Din Nakshband complex in Bukhara is a mausoleum with a couple of beautiful classic Uzbek ceilings - this one and another in the WS.
Also in the WS is a photo of the mausoleum and surrounds.

Hi Ian,
Quite an interesting structure already from outside but the ceilings are spectacular! And I would never guess from the outside how rich will be the interior.
Very impressive work, great reportage,

Hello Ian,
We seem to have survived the most hectic days of Christmas without much damage. WS #2 would have been the most traditional TE postcard, but the tiles seen here have such remarkable beauty that they deserve to be the main post, not least thanks to the fine sharpness of the photo.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ian,
The tight frame is putting the ceiling in evidence. The point of view is showing the details of the ceiling. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian,
WS1 and your main photo show both what beautiful and extremely detailed works of art these ceilings are.
How many people would have worked on it and for how long?
They must have been important persons whose bodies or ashes were kept there.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ian,
These ceilings are more elaborate then the ones I have seen in Istanbul. They are well preserved, too.
