Photographer's Note

Plenty of 'tyubiteikas' or Uzbek traditional scullcaps for sale and so much more at an outdoor Krytyy market in Bukhara. Considered as a national symbol of the country, tyubeteikas are also worn typically by the Turkic ethnic groups of Central Asia including Xinjiang - East Turkestan as well in Muslim populated regions of Russia. Interesting to note that it bears some superficial resemblance to the 'yurt' which is another Central Asian cultural icon.

Un très bel étalage. Ce n'est pas le choix qui manque ni les couleurs. Un beau cadrage précis qui joue d'ombre et de lumière.

Lovely colours and patterns and I like the shadows as well. In many countries this is the only remaining traditional outfit for man. Interesting, I never thought about their shape and you're right, they look like mini yurts! :-)
