Photographer's Note

Suzaný is a big deal when you talk about handicraft in Uzbekistan. It refers to embroidered hangings or fabric coverings. The original ones are about half meter wide (the biggest dimension allowed by the weaving machine) and different pieces were sewn together to make a big Suzaný. So if you look carefully you can still recognize this patchwork style. Colors and designs vary a lot. Flowers are actually a recurrent variation. This picture was taken in the Figurative Art Museum in Tashkent.
