Photographer's Note
I usually don't like to go to cemeteries for my photo shoot, but there's is an exception here in Samarkand. This Shakhi Zinda Complex is a large group of mausoleums some as early as 11th or 12th Century, others from the 14th Century. Many important people are buried here, such as the Great Amer Timur or known in the west as Tamerlane - the "Conqueror of Central Asia" It's is one of those hidden gems as we are presented with a series of well preserved, gigantic and colourful tombs. The sheer scale of the site’s majesty surrounded by an array of turquoise blue & green that come from the finest majolica and terracotta tilework, had me spellbound and taken aback by such beauty with which each detail had been crafted with such precision.
This is a photographer's haven as every angle is so different and all because of this vibrant colours appear at every turn!! Visitors and pilgrims visit this site daily where they pray for the deceased and hope a visit here would bring them peace and blessings
In one of the mausoleums, a placard translated into English quoted Timur:
" If you have doubts in our might and power, look at our monuments "
You couldn’t argue.....
Setting: 18 mm, 1/100 sec, F11, ISO Raw 200, 0815 hrs & Polarised
Additional pictures:
Workshop1: Avenue of mausoleums
Workshop2: Those blue tiled mosaics are exquisite!

Hello Abmdsudi,
I understand your reluctance to photograph cemeteries but sometimes, they provide such beautiful images that they are worthy of your camera!
This main photograph reveals absolutely beautiful, artistic patterning! The colours and the the designs eye-catching.
You have done a fine job of making this composition perfectly symmetrical.
I very much appreciate your w/s, too, which reveal close-ups of the patterns and of their setting.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Bonjour Abmdsudi,
J'aime beaucoup cette composition. La contre plongée donne beaucoup d'ampleur à l'ensemble. La symétrie est parfaite ainsi que le rendu des couleurs et des détails.
Amicalement

Hello Abmdsudi,
Fantastic photo, so full of the most beautiful and tiniest details and patterns in beautiful colours. I like the symmetry of the photo with the golden tones of the dome well seen in the centre. The very blue sky is a beautiful frame as well.

Hello Ambdsudi, There are here on TE people who love cemeteries, I do not. But Shahi Zinda complex in Samarkand is something unique. I was delighted visiting it as much as you did. Marvellous presentation of splendid architecture there. Fenomenal sharpness and colours. Good upward composition.
Kind regards MAlgo

Hello Abmdsudi!
Best light, remerkable colours and a fine symmetry.
It is remarkable that a religion which forbids to depict God, Allah or however you call Him has such a reliable and positive instinct about symmetry.

Hi Abmdsudi.
After a long period that I needed as a rest and to dedicate myself to my new change of residence, from Madrid I have moved to live in a smaller city 30 km away. Alcala de Henares, a beautiful city with a lot of history and very nice and quiet.
Splendid this perspective upwards of the wonderful entrance to the mausoleum of Timur, I visited it many years ago and I keep such a good memory, that I planned to repeat this year, but now with this of the "coronavirus", I don't know what to do, finally there is still A little for September.
Very effective color, which highlights the details of the image.
A good management, both of the luminosity, as of the sharpness.
Very well done. I like.
Enjoy the weekend.
Very best regards.
Luis
