Photographer's Note

A close up view of an arch entrance of the 14th century Gur-e-Amir or ‘Tomb of the King’ complex in Samarkand and is the final resting place of Amir Timur or 'Tamerlane the conqueror of Central Asia'

Those refined blue tile mosaics and geometric patterns are complimented by Kufic calligraphy with delicate floral motifs.

As I have mentioned on my earlier posting, without exaggeration in terms of awe inspiring Islamic architecture, Uzbekistan really stands out as a special place.
