Photographer's Note

Free and purely theoretical shot...It could have been shot anywhere but it happened that I lost myself in the basement of the World Trade Center Bangkok looking for the toilets.

This might be the only place in Bangkok where you can find a little bit of calm : I was struck by this arrangement of public phones under a mediocre light Public phones are seldom used items in this region of the world where you're socially oblivious if you don't permanently use at least two of the latest models of cell phones.

These poor people phone meant such a social decay that everybody who would pass by them needed to run almost, or perhaps was that the urge to sit on the loo...

I thought this would do my photo, switched to slow speed, leant on the wall and waited for four or five girls to pass (yes I know, it's the girls' rest rooms, hehehe...).

Is there any morale to this shot? Well, if I can find one, take your camera wherever you can, shot opportunities are often concealed in surprising places, basements, toilets... photo is sometimes like a Nintendo game, you must look everywhere to find a secret world.

Back home and without any scanner, I followed the path back to my darkroom and printed this one through lith printing technique (take a look, Jorrit).

This is the first print I can post from my august trip.
