Photographer's Note

Sukhothai was the capital of the first Kingdom of Siam in the 13th and 14th centuries. It has a number of fine monuments, illustrating the beginnings of Thai architecture. The great civilization which evolved in the Kingdom of Sukhothai absorbed numerous influences and ancient local traditions; the rapid assimilation of all these elements forged what is known as the 'Sukhothai style'.

I took this picture early morning when it was much darker than it seems on the picture. If you want to feel the atmosphere of such a touristic but still beautiful place, waking up early is the only way. It's a great experience to bike around this unique site with your tripod and camera ready. Unfortunaltely it was a very foggy day that day but I still like the atmosphere it gives to my pictures.
