Photographer's Note
In an incident that has turned into more of a blessing than a curse, I dropped my ancient 75-300 lens rendering the autofocus function - well - non functional. I wish I could claim I used this odd focusing on purpose as an artistic choice - but it was simply a matter of my getting my prefocusing wrong.
Another shot of a girl from the orphanage my students visited in Chiang Mai. Not able to play cute and cuddly like the 4 and 5 year olds this teenager just stepped back into the shadow of the bamboo trees and watched - her future as fuzzy and out of focus as this picture - presumptuous but true.
