Photographer's Note

This is a picture of the Reclining Buddha in Wat Po. Reclining Buddha is not, however, the direct transalation from Thai language. "Sleeping" Buddha is the correct translation, from the name "Phra Norn". This is a very beautiful statue of Buddha, I will post a color version soon, but firstly I want to post this BW version to show the dramatic impression of this great statue first.

Wat Po and Wat Phra Kaew are the two main tourist attraction near Rachadumnern area of Bangkok. Wat Po (aka. the Temple of the Reclining Buddha) contains what is pictured here, the Reclining Buddha, while Wat Phra Kaew (or aka. The Temple of the Emerald Buddha) contains one of the most sacred Buddha in Thailand, the Emerald Buddha. These two visits are musts if you visit Thailand, and you will be stunned by the beauty of them all.

This picture was taken without a tripod (amazingly) by me withstanding myself and the camera to a pole, with the help of anti-shake from my dSLR.
