Photographer's Note

This photo was taken at the worlds biggest weekend market selling practically everything under the sun, from the smallest nails, to foods, trendy fashions, antiques intricate wooden carvings, masks from far-off lands, adorable fluffy dogs, colorful fish of every hue and singing birds. You can find all this and more at amazing Chatuchak market. There are almost 9,000 individual booths overflowing with every imaginable type of wares to catch your fancy. Once inside the market, you will be catch up in a world of bursting crowds and stalls stretching as far as the eye can see.

Unfortunately not all vendors can afford a stall. I spotted this elderly woman who had set up shop along one of the road ways that runs through the market. Sadly set up right beside a drainage ditch, doing her best sell her wares- a bamboo woven fish at the end of a stick. I tried my best to capture her without drawing attention to myself, or possibly upsetting her.
I approached her afterwards to purchase one of her fish, which she was selling for almost nothing... as I recall about 25 US cents. My heart went out to her as she was so polite and appreciative, I ended up giving her about 10 USD.

Post Production: Cropping, Sepia added, as there were parts that were over exposed I tried to darken those slightly, gaussian blur and noise added to everything but the woman.

I hope you like it.
