Photographer's Note

This is the third shot in a serie about Bangkok's khlongs.

I was thinking about the title for some time because I did not know whether the man was doing the laundry for his whole family or he had a laundry service. I guess I will never know...

I took the photo while I was standing on a bridge, so my line of view was levelled with the second floor of the house. I waited until I could catch a glance of his face between the clothes. Zoomed in 8x. Notice the cluster of wires hanging on the roof.

The sunlight was bright and came from the left. Also, my camera showed some colour aberrations under strong light differences/transitions. This is most noticeable on the left (the white shirt) and the wires (purple fringing).

Photos in this serie:
#1: Bangkok's waterways
#2: Daily life along the khlongs
